Research

The Sugar Bureau continuously monitors developments in nutritional science published in international scientific journals. Our extensive database contains information on a wide range of topics, from dental health to weight control and dietary guidelines. The Sugar Bureau also funds scientific research in academic institutions throughout the UK.

Communication

This website provides science-based information on all aspects of sugar and health, as well as other nutritional topics.

Education

The Sugar Bureau is committed to providing up-to-date information on nutritional issues to health professionals. Nutrition in Practice covers a range of nutrition topics of interest to dietitians, GPs, nurses, health visitors and the Dental Team. NIP is provided to UK and Ireland health professionals free of charge, three times a year, on request or you can opt to receive an e-copy instead. A number of patient leaflets are also available for UK and Ireland health professionals to use with their patients including: Growing up with Healthy Teeth, Losing Weight and Keeping it Off, Looking Good, Feeling Great, Looking After Your Baby's Teeth and Food and Fitness for School Aged Children.

Government Liaison

In response to the report 'Dietary Reference Values for Food Energy and Nutrients for the United Kingdom' published by the government's Committee on Medical Aspects of Food and Nutrition Policy (COMA) in 1991, The Sugar Bureau submitted a review of the health issues surrounding sugar consumption in the UK.
